About Me

I’m Kevin — professional project wrangler by day, amateur whisky taster and beer explorer by night (and weekends).

Based in Calgary, I’m lucky to be surrounded by an amazing and growing scene of local breweries and distilleries — from tucked-away taprooms in the city to small-batch whisky spots out in the foothills to beautiful vineyards a short trip down the road in lake country. Whiskies and Brews started as an excuse to get out, support local, and maybe justify how often I “accidentally” end up at a tasting room.

I’m not a critic — just someone who enjoys a good pour, a friendly atmosphere, and a story worth sipping. I’m usually joined by Mrs. W&B (that’s my wife — Whiskies & Brews approved), and sometimes our little dog Molly tags along too, especially if there’s a patio involved.
